Q. How have your academic and work experiences led you to working with the GBB program?
I have a strong background in Environmental and Natural Resource management and my research has really brought to light the importance of economics within the framework of environmental science and management.As I progress in the environmental field, it is becoming increasingly apparent that economy and environment are two sides of the same coin. Naturally, GBB caught my attention, as it provides a great opportunity to do my part in helping to improve both economic productivity and environmental conservancy in Barbados.
Q. Why are you a Green Business Barbados Coach?
I am passionate about the environment; this passion has influenced almost every aspect of my life, from my academic pursuits to my choices at the supermarket. I want to use this passion for sustainable development and my knowledge of environmental management to assist the GBB initiative.I strongly believe that a more sustainable approach to business is necessary for our nation’s prosperity and that through GBB we can work to maximize benefit to people, the planet and our pockets.
Q. What has been your most recent environmental revelation?
My most recent revelation lies in learning the extent to which you can reduce consumption simply by monitoring your daily use. Knowledge is power and knowing exactly how much energy is being used by each appliance in my house has really helped us to reduce our energy consumption.

Spending time in the ocean is always fun. Snorkeling is a pastime that brings me great pleasure.

I like so many different types of music that it is difficult to pick favourites, but one song that works for me, no matter what mood I am in, is Bill Withers’ Lovely Day.
